Antique Coromandel Vanity Box with Sterling Silver Jars by S. Mordan & Co, 1856
Exquisite antique Victorian vanity or dressing case, dated 1856. The box is crafted from luxurious coromandel wood and adorned with ornate brass edging and mother-of-pearl inlay. The interior features a complete fitted set of silver-topped glass containers, all hallmarked by the renowned maker S. Mordan & Co, London.
The upper section opens to reveal five cut glass jars and an arrangement of silver containers, each engraved with fine detailing. A hidden lower drawer, lined in rich emerald green velvet, offers compartmentalised storage for jewellery or accessories. The lid is lined in black leather with document pockets and original hinges.
